SBN Zoom Online Meeting
Speaker Lotte Lyster Connolly of the Prince Albert Pub in Rodborough will talk to us about the impact of lockdown and her experience of being featured on the BBC programme Saving Britains Pubs
Your chance to meet one of the UK’s best-known landlords!
Lotte Lyster Connolly from The Prince Albert pub in Rodborough rose to national fame during lockdown when she and husband Miles were featured on the hit TV series Saving Britain’s Pubs with top chef Tom Kerridge late last year.
And Lotte has agreed to be our guest speaker at our April meeting, celebrating 25 years as licensee of the well-known music pub while bringing up her family as part of the local community.
Lotte will bring us bang up to date about how the pub has survived despite all the odds -and how being part of the TV show was a life saver in helping them turn their business around, enabling them to stay afloat and bring a new offer to loyal customers and neighbours.
Despite the bleakness of the pandemic and its disastrous impact on the hospitality industry, Lotte and Miles’s strong support for and from their neighbours helped them look forward, setting up takeaway pizzas and burgers and even home beer deliveries in conjunction with The Bike Drop.
This promises to be fascinating morning hearing from Stroud’s foremost business characters!
Our Zoom meetings throughout lockdown have been well attended and good fun, with over 20 members and guests in attendance.
