SBN Zoom Online Meeting with Speaker

Siobhan Baillie - Stroud MP

It’s your chance to hear from - and question - Siobhan Baillie, MP for Stroud.

Siobhan tells us that since her election just over a year ago, she has “recruited a team, set up Westminster and Stroud offices, progressed local projects, learned the weird and wonderful world of the Houses of Parliament, tackled a global pandemic and had a baby.”

Before getting into politics, Siobhan worked in law for 17 years, starting as a legal secretary and working her way up to become a family law solicitor specialising in divorce, children proceedings and domestic violence work.

She’ll update us on what she has been working on over the past year and will then take questions from SBN Members. So, get your thinking caps on and prepare some questions for Stroud’s first female MP.

More about Siobhan:

In 2016 Siobhan became Head of Policy at a charity that specialises in supporting separating families.  She has also served as a councillor and school governor. Locally Siobhan says she “is dealing with everything from business grants, new railway stations and hospitality restrictions to campaigning for our wedding businesses, high streets and a Fusion Power plant.”  In Parliament, she is “working on a national Early Years review, reforming Further Education and preventing anonymous abuse accounts amongst other roles.” She tells us

she is a huge fan of the Stroud Businesswomen’s Network and hopes the meeting will be an opportunity for Members to hear about how government is focusing on small and medium sized business and talk through how we can work together rebuild post Covid.

Our Zoom meetings throughout lockdown have been well attended and good fun.  Read the details below * if you are a non-member who would like a free introductory meeting to try us out.
